Transactional Finance Manager, Chesterfield

This role sits within a collaborative and progressive finance function, overseen by a Finance Director who is very much hands-on and committed to developing both the team and the wider department. It’s an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to take full responsibility for the transactional finance operation, drive meaningful improvements, and support the ongoing development of systems and processes as the business continues to grow.

The position will suit someone who enjoys being actively involved in day-to-day finance operations, takes pride in developing high-performing teams, and wants to make a visible difference across the organisation.

• Take ownership of the transactional finance team, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and cash/bank reconciliations
• Lead, support and develop the team, ensuring clear structure, workload balance and strong performance
• Recruit, onboard and develop new team members to build capability and confidence within the department
• Review and enhance existing processes, introducing improvements to strengthen efficiency, controls and overall ways of working
• Support the ongoing development and modernisation of the finance function as the business evolves
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, postings and reconciliations

• Proven experience managing or overseeing a transactional finance team
• Strong understanding of end-to-end transactional finance processes
• Experience in developing, coaching and supporting team members
• Naturally process-focused with a strong drive for continuous improvement
• Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to thrive in a busy environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the business
