Are you an organised and proactive administrator looking to join a leading manufacturer within the construction industry?

Our client is a globally recognised manufacturer of world-class construction equipment, renowned for innovation, quality, and engineering excellence. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Transport Administrator / Administrator to support their busy logistics and operations team at their Portsmouth site.

The Role
This is a varied administrative position supporting the transport, logistics, and operational functions of the business. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of deliveries, customer communications, transport documentation, and general administrative activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with transport providers, internal departments, and customers to ensure equipment and parts are delivered efficiently and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and scheduling transport and delivery activities.
  • ​​Liaising with hauliers, drivers, suppliers, and customers regarding delivery schedules.
  • Preparing transport documentation and delivery paperwork.
  • Processing purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems.
  • Tracking shipments and providing delivery updates to customers.
  • Supporting stock control and inventory administration.
  • Assisting with general office administration and operational support.
  • Managing incoming calls, emails, and customer enquiries.
  • Producing reports and maintaining transport and logistics records.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous administration experience, ideally within transport, logistics, manufacturing, engineering, or construction environments.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive, proactive, and team-oriented approach.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a transport, logistics, fleet, or dispatch function.
  • Knowledge of transport documentation and delivery processes.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP, or logistics management systems.
