Transport Administrator – 

4 on / 4 off Shift Pattern | Days & Nights Available| 12 hour shifts 

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and organised Transport Administrator to join a busy and fast-paced logistics operation based at East Midlands Gateway.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing transport team within a modern distribution environment, supporting daily transport and operational activities across a 24/7 operation.

The Role

As a Transport Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the transport department by ensuring all administrative, compliance, and communication tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

Working closely with drivers, planners, warehouse teams, and management, you will help maintain high service levels while supporting day-to-day transport operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the transport team with daily administrative duties
• Processing and updating transport documentation accurately
• Managing driver paperwork, PODs, manifests, and delivery notes
• Communicating with drivers regarding routes, delays, and operational updates
• Monitoring vehicle and driver activity using internal systems
• Updating transport management systems and spreadsheets
• Assisting with route planning and load allocation where required
• Handling inbound and outbound calls and emails professionally
• Escalating operational issues and delays promptly
• Supporting compliance with transport regulations and company procedures
• Liaising with warehouse and operational teams to ensure smooth workflow
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring data accuracy at all times

Requirements

• Previous experience within a transport, logistics, or fleet administration role
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Experience using transport or warehouse management systems is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible approach to shift patterns and operational requirements

Shift Pattern

• 4 on / 4 off rotation
• Day shifts and night shifts available
