Job Description – Transport Planner

Careermakers Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner on behalf of our client based in Astley, Manchester. This is a temp to perm opportunity with a well-established transport company operating a bulk haulage fleet.

This role would suit someone with route planning experience or someone with a strong interest in the transport and logistics industry who is looking to start a career in transport planning.

The Role

• Planning and allocating daily loads for a bulk haulage fleet
• Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and industry standards
• Supporting drivers with briefings, scheduling and general queries
• Liaising with customers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve issues
• Monitoring fleet utilisation and operational efficiency
• Working closely with workshop teams to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant

Shift Details

• Monday to Friday
• 40 hours per week
• Office based in Astley

Pay & Benefits

• £13 – £18 per hour during the temporary period, depending on experience
• Temp to perm opportunity
• Permanent salary between £25,000 – £35,000 per year, depending on experience

Requirements

• No previous transport planning experience necessary
• Genuine interest in transport and logistics
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
