Westray Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join the team in Birmingham, as one of the founding members of the team. We are looking for one candidate at either Transport Planner level, Senior or Principal level. The difference between the levels is time experience gained within the role, plus responsibilities i.e. project management, mentoring junior staff, client facing role etc.
  
This role involves producing and reviewing high-quality report outputs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and supporting project delivery in collaboration with internal teams and the wider project team If you are looking for a new challenge in an environment that values creativity, excellence, and career progression, we encourage you to apply for this position.
  
  
THE ROLE
  
  • Preparation of Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
  • Preparation and presentation of technical data and drawings
  • Preparation of Travel Plans as and Travel Plan Coordination
  • Undertaking junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
  • To ensure that all assigned tasks / jobs are delivered on-time and to budget
  • Liaison with clients, contractors and local / national authorities, as required
  • To check the quality and accuracy of work produced by junior team members
  • Work collaboratively with the team and proactively support junior staff in developing their technical knowledge
  • Undertaking site appraisals/visits and designing surveys, through to providing input to written reports and presentational material
  • Support Team Leaders in the delivery of comprehensive advice to clients on Highways & Transport matters from preliminary advice / feasibility work
  • Ensuring that all electronic and paper files on projects they are kept up-to-date
  • Assistance with other related tasks, as required by your Team Leader
  • Have an active role in growing and establishing the Birmingham Office.
  
  
  
THE PERSON
  
  • Degree in applicable subject; Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering
  • 2-5 years of experience of UK Transport Planning standards and processes
  • Member of Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (MCIHT)
  
Technical Skills:
  
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office software packages
  • Good levels of numeracy, including a good understanding of spreadsheets.
  • Use of AutoCAD (desirable)
  • Working experience / understanding of ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
