My client, a well-established organisation, is seeking a Transport Supervisor to join their Bristol-based team. Working closely with the management team, you will play a key role in overseeing daily transport activities, supporting drivers, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring operational efficiency across the fleet.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies, including tachograph management and vehicle defect reporting
- Support the planning and optimisation of daily vehicle routes to maximise productivity and minimise downtime
- Monitor driver performance, attendance, and productivity, providing coaching and support where required
- Conduct investigations relating to vehicle incidents, accidents, and employee conduct issues
- Liaise with drivers, operational teams, and customers to ensure service levels are maintained
- Oversee vehicle, equipment, and site standards, ensuring operational readiness at all times
- Maintain accurate transport documentation, reports, and compliance records
- Assist with credit control processes and support wider business performance objectives
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
Person Specification
- Previous experience within a Transport Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, Fleet Supervisor, Transport Planner, or similar operational role is essential
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation, fleet compliance, and driver management
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across multiple departments
- Experience managing and motivating teams within a fast-paced operational environment
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy when completing reports and documentation
- Good IT skills, including experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
Working hours for this role are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00 am - 5.00 pm
