Vehicle Technician

Our client is a successful and growing business with multiple sites. They are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their Derbyshire site. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicle makes and models. Duties of Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

• Conduct comprehensive inspections to identify mechanical issues and faults
• Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components
• Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs accurately and efficiently
• Test vehicles post-repair to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met
• Maintain detailed records of work carried out, parts used, and time spent on each task
• Assist with vehicle diagnostics using specialised equipment and software
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
• Assist in the organisation of workshop tools, equipment, and parts inventory

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic or in a similar automotive repair role
• Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for repairs and maintenance tasks
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment
• Experience with diagnostic software is advantageous but not essential
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and safety

Salary

• Basic salary £32,000 - £40,000
