Our client, a family-run dealership located in Billingshurst, is actively recruiting a Vehicle Technician to join their dedicated team. Duties of a Vehicle Technician:
  • Perform scheduled servicing, maintenance, and inspections on motor and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using various diagnostic tools and wiring diagrams
  • Conduct fault-finding, repairs, and refurbishments on diverse vehicle types including off-road equipment
  • Assist in pre-delivery inspections on new and pre-owned vehicles
  • Promote dealership services and products effectively to customers
  • Attend manufacturer training courses to stay current with the latest vehicle technologies
  • Complete detailed job cards and work orders accurately
  • Maintain workshop safety standards and cleanliness
  • Support junior technicians and apprentices through mentoring and training
  • Assist with tyre replacements, wheel alignments, and general workshop duties
Requirements of a Vehicle Technician:
  • Proven experience as a Service Vehicle Technician or similar role within the motor trade
  • Strong diagnostic, repair, and routine servicing skills
  • Familiarity with commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and off-road equipment
  • Own tools preferred; manufacturer-supplied tools and PPE provided
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organisational skills to work efficiently under pressure
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and support out-of-hours work if required
  • Knowledge or experience of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) is advantageous
  • Enthusiastic team player with a proactive approach to learning and development
