You will play a key role in coordinating daily warehouse activity, leading a team on the shop floor, and ensuring operational targets are met safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and manage a fast-paced team environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support the Shift Manager in day-to-day warehouse operations
  • Allocate workloads to ensure all tasks are completed within deadlines
  • Monitor performance and ensure delivery of the daily shift plan
  • Manage attendance, timekeeping, return-to-work interviews, and absence processes
  • Identify operational issues and escalate appropriately to management
  • Maintain strong communication with the Shift Manager regarding tasks and updates
  • Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor (80–90% of shift)
  • Identify training needs and support team development

Skills & Experience


  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role
  • Experience managing teams, including 1-2-1s and performance reviews
  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes and best practice
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • High attention to detail
