The Role
My client, a leading food manufacturer is seeking a confident and experienced warehouse team leader/supervisor to lead a standalone warehouse operation in Amesbury. This is a key leadership role responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate dispatch of finished goods, while ensuring full compliance with hygiene, technical, and health & safety standards.
Operating within a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, you will act as the on-site leader, ensuring continuity of operations across day shifts. You will take full ownership of site performance, people leadership, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop a warehouse team within a fast-paced 24/7 operation
- Manage performance, attendance, and development of team members and supervisors
- Ensure effective shift handovers and strong communication across the leadership team
Operations & Performance
- Oversee all outbound logistics, ensuring dispatch accuracy and service excellence
- Plan and coordinate loading schedules, transport, and trailer utilisation
- Manage stock accuracy and system transactions across sites
- Ensure all dispatch documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
- Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, accuracy, and cost control
Site Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as the senior on-site leader during your shift
- Coordinate with internal teams and third-party logistics providers
- Support effective stock flow between multiple sites
Compliance & Standards
- Lead all site activities relating to hygiene, food safety, and H&S
- Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance checks (GMP, temperature, site standards)
- Maintain accurate records for hygiene, cleaning, and compliance activities
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed
- Ensure the site is always audit-ready in line with industry and customer standards
About You
- Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics management role (ideally FMCG)
- Strong knowledge of dispatch, transport coordination, and warehouse systems
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety practices
- Experience managing teams in a shift-based or 24/7 environment
- IT literate (Excel and WMS/ERP systems)
- FLT licence (desirable but not essential)

- Dispatch Accuracy: ≥ 99%
- DIFOT (Delivery in Full, On Time): ≥ 98.5%
- Stock Accuracy: ≥ 99%
- Audit & Compliance Scores: Meet or exceed targets
- Health & Safety: Zero lost-time incidents
