Waste Operative

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an FLT Waste Operative to work with a client on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 3:00pm, with a one hour unpaid lunch break each day.

Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting waste management operations across a busy site environment. This will involve the safe movement of waste materials using a counterbalance forklift truck, as well as assisting with loading, unloading and general site duties.

Main Duties:

• Transfer waste materials around site using a counterbalance forklift truck
• Load and unload flatbed vehicles
• Move palletised waste safely and efficiently
• Carry out manual handling duties as required
• Operate baler and compactor units following training
• Assist with general waste management and housekeeping activities
• Follow all health and safety procedures and site regulations

Essential Criteria:

• Valid counterbalance forklift truck licence
• Previous experience operating a forklift truck in a busy working environment
• Ability to carry out manual handling duties
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
• Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Previous waste industry experience advantageous but not essential
