Workshop Assistant

Careermakers Recruitment are looking for a Workshop Assistant for our ever-growing client based in the heart of Normanton, WF6.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist fabricators with general workshop duties
- Support operation of machinery including press brake (under supervision)
- Carry out sanding, drilling, and basic finishing tasks
- Move, load, and organise aluminium and steel materials around the workshop
- Prepare materials and components for fabrication
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
- Assist with unloading deliveries and storing stock correctly
- Follow instructions to support efficient production flow
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a fabrication department is essential
- Experience handling aluminium and steel materials is required
- Comfortable with manual, hands-on work in a workshop environment
- Good understanding of basic fabrication processes
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Flexible with working hours and willing to undertake overtime when required
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
Working hours will be Monday - Friday 7am - 3.30pm, with a pay rate of £12.80 per hour depending on experience.
