A 2-form entry primary school in Southall is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team from September 2026 for the full academic year.

The Role

As the successful Year 1 Teacher, you will:

  • Take responsibility for a Year 1 class from September 2026
  • Deliver engaging and creative lessons aligned with the National Curriculum
  • Support pupils as they transition from the EYFS framework into Key Stage 1
  • Deliver high-quality phonics teaching and early literacy development
  • Differentiate learning effectively to meet the needs of all learners
  • Work collaboratively with the parallel Year 1 teacher and wider KS1 team
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

The school is seeking a teacher who understands the importance of strong foundations in Year 1 and can help pupils develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching within KS1 or strong KS1 teaching placements
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of phonics and early reading development
  • Be an organised and reflective practitioner
  • Have high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Be committed to supporting all pupils to reach their potential
  • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team
