This Year 2 Teacher role offers the opportunity to work full time in a supportive and well‑organised primary school on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. The Year 2 Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and structured lessons that build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and personal development. This role would suit a confident Year 2 Teacher or a strong Early Career Teacher who is eager to develop their practice within a collaborative and nurturing environment.Duties as Year 2 Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Year 2 lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and behaviour
- Support pupils’ transition within Key Stage 1 through consistent routines and expectations
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Differentiate lessons to support pupils with a range of abilities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning and consistency
- Maintain clear classroom routines and high expectations for behaviour
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers where required
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status
- Strong Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, particularly Year 2, is desirable
- Demonstrates strong classroom practice and behaviour management
- Organised, reflective, and eager to develop professionally
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Passion for supporting pupils at a crucial stage of their development
