Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a friendly and supportive primary school in the Henley-on-Thames area to appoint a passionate and dedicated Year 4 Class Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming school community and play a key role in supporting pupils as they progress through Lower Key Stage 2.
This role would suit an enthusiastic and committed teacher with a strong understanding of KS2 expectations, who is dedicated to helping pupils build on their prior learning and achieve their full potential.
The RoleAs a Year 4 Teacher, you will support pupils in developing greater independence and confidence in their learning, while strengthening their knowledge and skills across the KS2 curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated Year 4 lessons in line with the KS2 national curriculum
- Support pupils’ development in reading, writing, maths, and SPaG
- Consolidate prior learning while preparing pupils for upper KS2 expectations
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and targeted interventions
- Support children with a range of abilities, including those with SEN
- Promote pupils’ confidence, independence, and resilience
- Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and colleagues
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – desirable
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4 or Lower KS2
- Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum expectations
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Engaging, adaptable, and nurturing teaching style
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work full-time in the Henley-on-Thames (RG) area from September
- Previous experience teaching Year 4
- Strong understanding of progression within KS2
- Experience using assessment data to track and accelerate pupil progress
- Experience supporting children with SEN
