This position is due to start within the next two weeks and is expected to continue until at least the Spring Term. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 6 class and will be expected to fulfil the full duties of a class teacher, including planning, preparation, assessment, marking, and progress tracking.
A comprehensive handover period will be provided to support a smooth transition into the role.
The Role
- Teaching a Year 6 class within a specialist SEN setting
- Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Undertaking the full responsibilities of a class teacher
- Working closely with support staff, parents, and the wider school team
- Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour management
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Key Stage 2 pupils or the ability to deliver the Year 6 curriculum effectively
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A flexible and inclusive approach to teaching
- An understanding of, or interest in, supporting pupils with special educational needs
