Youth Employer Partnership Consultant

Red 5 People

Would you like to help young people take their first big step into work? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a project that supports 16–24-year-olds with learning disabilities and autism, giving them the skills, confidence, and guidance they need to move into meaningful employment.

We are recruiting on behalf of an outstanding charity for a permanent Employer Engagement Specialist. This is a dynamic, field-based role where you will directly impact employment outcomes by cultivating partnerships with commercial employers across London.

While the role covers various territories, we are specifically looking for candidates who can easily access sites across East and South London (Bexley, Romford, Stratford) or West/Southwest London (Wandsworth, Reading). You will have a designated base site closest to your home, with all outward business travel fully expensed.

Day-to-day, that will involve:

  • Proactively approaching and cold-calling local commercial employers to arrange supported work experience and placement opportunities.

  • Building, growing, and nurturing long-term corporate relationships to secure future paid employment pipelines for our learners.

  • Working closely with onsite Job Coaches to pick up specific placement briefs for unique or challenging learner profiles.

  • Sourcing "warm leads" and vacancies to share across our London delivery sites, helping match the right candidate to the right business.

  • Meeting with young people directly to help them prepare for specific interviews and build their workplace confidence.

This is an incredibly rewarding role where you will see the direct, tangible impact of your networking and relationship-building.

About You:

  • Proactive Sales/BD Drive: You must have a strong background in cold-calling, business development, or proactive B2B employer engagement.

  • Transferable Backgrounds: Experience in roles such as Recruitment Consultant, Employer Engagement Consultant, Vocational Sales, or Employment Advisor (specifically within Welfare-to-Work or employability spaces) is highly desirable.

  • Resilience and Autonomy: You are a self-starter who is completely comfortable knocking on doors, navigating commercial environments, and managing a roaming London territory.

  • The Right Ethos: You bring an understanding of, or a genuine passion for, advocating for neurodiverse young people to help them access fair, paid work.
