About the Role
Empowering Learning are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Wigan to recruit a dedicated and resilient Youth Worker. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people, particularly those who may face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, promoting positive behaviour and engagement
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children who may require additional emotional support
• Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
• Help manage challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches
• Encourage pupils' personal, social, and emotional development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school, youth work, or support setting
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
