1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH school in Morpeth for a committed and resilient 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a maternity cover basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage positively with learning and school life.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with SEMH needs
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Encouraging engagement with learning and social development
- Building a consistent and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to meet individual needs
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed
- Relevant childcare, support work or education experience (desirable but not essential)
- Monday to Friday working pattern (9am–3pm)
- Supportive and specialist school environment
