About the Company

Our client is a rapidly growing and highly respected B2B organisation, supplying products and solutions to customers across a wide range of industries. Due to continued growth and increasing demand, they are now looking to recruit an 

Account Manager to join their successful commercial team.


This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded individual who enjoys building strong customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering exceptional service.

The Role


As an Account Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of existing customers, developing strong relationships and ensuring their ongoing needs are met. The role is heavily customer-focused, with approximately 80% of your time spent speaking with customers and 20% managing communications via email and internal systems.

You will be responsible for understanding your customers' businesses, forecasting future opportunities, identifying areas for growth, and ensuring a high level of customer engagement.


Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers

• Gain a thorough understanding of customer businesses, including their structure, industry, key contacts, and future plans

• Regularly communicate with customers to identify opportunities and maintain engagement

• Forecast current and future customer requirements and order volumes

• Proactively discuss new developments and upcoming projects with customers

• Introduce and promote new products and solutions where appropriate

• Provide customers with updates regarding pricing, lead times, and product availability

• Monitor customer accounts and assist with the collection of outstanding balances when required

• Maintain accurate records of customer activity and opportunities within the CRM system

• Take full ownership and accountability for customer accounts and commercial performance


Performance Expectations

The successful candidate will work towards clear and measurable performance targets, including:

• Minimum of 10 meaningful outbound customer calls per day focused on relationship building and account development

• A further 20 daily activity calls relating to customer enquiries, leads, follow-ups, quotations, and business development activities

• Monthly sales bookings target of £75,000

• Delivering a minimum 10% growth in revenue across existing customer accounts


About You

• Previous experience in Account Management, Internal Sales, Customer Success, or Business Development

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Commercially aware with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities

• Strong organisational and forecasting abilities

• Comfortable working towards sales and activity targets

• Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and ownership

• Experience working within a B2B environment would be advantageous
