Our client, ISS, is seeking an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineer to provide air conditioning, refrigeration and associated building maintenance services across designated client properties.
The role involves delivering high-quality fault finding, repairs, maintenance and installation works on client sites, ensuring systems operate safely and effectively.
Job Description
We are looking for a technically competent engineer with a strong HVAC and refrigeration background who can manage both proactive planned maintenance and reactive works within agreed timeframes.
The position requires a customer-focused approach, ensuring service delivery consistently meets and exceeds client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver AC, refrigeration and HVAC-biased PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set timeframes.
- Inspect, repair, modify and install refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including compressors, chillers and system controls.
- Carry out regular preventive maintenance inspections and undertake necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant, including basic electrical fault finding.
- Repair, replace or rebuild defective components such as compressors, motors, controls, valves, filters and heat exchangers.
- Undertake installation, calibration and testing of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including pipework and insulation.
- Provide call-out response as part of the agreed rota and support new installations and repair works.
- Carry out contractor control duties, including monitoring workmanship and issuing Permits to Work.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Qualifications
- City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 equivalent
AND: - NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems
OR - NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating and Ventilation
OR - NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating and Ventilation Service & Maintenance
- IPAF and/or PASMA
- Full UK Driving Licence
Experience
- Proven experience in air conditioning, refrigeration or HVAC building services maintenance.
- Previous experience delivering reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
- Experience working within FM or building services environments in commercial properties.
