The Role

As a High Voltage Approved Electrician/Wireman, you'll support the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of HV electrical systems across a live substation project. You’ll work to industry‑leading safety standards while ensuring timely, compliant project delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Installing and maintaining HV distribution equipment, SCADA, signalling, and control systems
  • Containment installation: tray, trunking, conduit, ladder rack
  • Small wiring & multi‑core cable works
  • Fault finding, diagnostics, and testing
  • Completing installation reports, test certs & daily records
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Using and maintaining HV tools and test equipment safely
  • Working collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and operatives

What You Need

✔️ JIB Graded Electrician – Approved Electrician (2391 essential)

✔️ 18th Edition (BS 7671)

✔️ Proven HV substation experience

✔️ Strong knowledge of site safety and HV standards

✔️ Confident reading technical drawings and wiring diagrams

✔️ Experience in testing & inspection
