The Role – ASD Teaching Assistant
As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder within the classroom environment. As an ASD Teaching Assistant you will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will help pupils access the curriculum, develop social and communication skills, and build confidence in their learning.
The successful ASD Teaching Assistant will support pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions, using effective strategies to promote engagement, independence, and positive behaviour. As an ASD Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive academically and socially.
The ideal ASD Teaching Assistant will be patient, nurturing, and committed to supporting children with additional needs. Previous experience working with pupils with ASD is essential.
