As an Assessor & IQA, you’ll play a key role in shaping learner success, providing high-quality assessment, guidance, and quality assurance across specialist fire safety programmes. This is a varied position where your expertise will directly contribute to raising standards across fire risk awareness, compliance, and safety practice.

Responsibilities
- Support learners through their qualification journey, providing clear, structured, and actionable feedback
- Assess learner work and track progress against programme requirements
- Deliver guidance on assessment processes across both online and classroom settings
- Conduct Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) to ensure consistency, compliance, and high standards
- Mentor and support assessors, promoting best practice and standardisation
- Manage your caseload effectively, meeting deadlines and quality expectations
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment materials and processes
- Identify and address any issues relating to plagiarism or malpractice
- Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to enhance learning quality
Qualifications
- Level 4 qualification in Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, or relevant experience

Experience
- Experience assessing or supporting learners in a professional or technical environment
- Knowledge of fire safety disciplines such as fire doors or passive fire protection
- Experience delivering structured, constructive feedback
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel
- Experience conducting fire risk assessments and report writing
- Experience working with regulated qualifications or awarding bodies
