An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Technical Assessor to join a rapidly growing waste resource services provider.

This is a key role where you will utilise your chemistry expertise to assess incoming waste streams, ensuring accurate classification, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective disposal solutions.


Operating within a fast-paced environment, you will manage multiple projects across the UK, balancing daily operational demands with longer-term project delivery. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively are essential.


Key Responsibilities
⦁    Assess and review incoming waste streams using customer-provided information 
⦁    Accurately classify waste in accordance with current legislation and best practice 
⦁    Determine appropriate and cost-effective disposal routes 
⦁    Ensure full compliance with site permits, licences, and waste acceptance procedures 
⦁    Provide clear and confident technical advice to customers and internal stakeholders 
⦁    Develop a thorough understanding of site processing capabilities 
⦁    Communicate effectively via phone and email regarding quotations, scheduling, and non-conformances 
⦁    Support classification, labelling, and packaging requirements 
⦁    Advise on transport regulations, including labelling and consignment documentation 
⦁    Maintain accurate records and ensure a complete audit trail in line with company procedures 
⦁    Identify and follow up on sales opportunities, contributing to business growth 
⦁    Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful completion 
Requirements
⦁    Degree in Chemistry or a related discipline (minimum HNC) 
⦁    At least 2 years’ experience in a Technical Assessor or similar role 
⦁    Strong knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous waste management 
⦁    Experience within a hazardous waste transfer station and/or transport operations 
⦁    Solid understanding of waste legislation, including consignment notes, EWC codes, and permitting 
⦁    Proven experience in waste classification (essential) 
⦁    Strong commercial awareness and decision-making capability 
⦁    Excellent organisational and project management skills 
⦁    High level of IT proficiency and ability to work independently 
⦁    ADR licence (desirable) 
⦁    Full UK driving licence (essential)
