Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions is seeking a highly organised and proactive Assistant Facilities Manager to oversee and manage all contractor activity across RAF Brize Norton.

This is a key operational role, acting as the main point of contact between the client, site teams, and specialist subcontractors to ensure all corrective maintenance, remedial works, and specialist FM services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with site procedures. You will coordinate contractor access, organise specialist attendance for reactive and corrective maintenance works, manage quotations and work approvals, and ensure all activities are completed compliantly within a secure and operational environment.

This role is ideal for someone from a Facilities Management background who is confident managing multiple contractors, liaising with stakeholders, and overseeing maintenance processes from initial request through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary coordinator for all contractors attending RAF Brize Norton.
  • Liaise directly with the client and site teams regarding contractor access, permits, and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate specialist corrective maintenance and remedial works across the site.
  • Obtain, review, and manage quotations for specialist maintenance services and subcontracted works.
  • Schedule and oversee contractor attendance, ensuring works are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor contractor performance, compliance documentation, RAMS, and health & safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, work trackers, and CAFM updates relating to contractor activities and ongoing works.
  • Ensure all contractor activities comply with site regulations and operational procedures within a secure environment.

About You

  • Previous experience within Facilities Management, maintenance coordination, or contractor management environments.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple ongoing works simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, specialist maintenance providers, or remedial works.
  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures and contractor compliance requirements.
  • IOSH, SMSTS, or similar health & safety qualifications are desirable, although training will be provided.
  • Confident liaising with clients, contractors, and operational teams in a professional environment.
  • Strong administrative and IT skills, including experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional and supportive FM team in a pivotal coordination role, offering stability, responsibility, and the chance to work within a large operational airbase environment. If you have an FM background and enjoy managing contractor operations and stakeholder relationships, we’d love to hear from you.
