I am currently representing Enfield Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience
We are looking for a Assistant Occupational Therapist this role will be: EN1 3XA
The right candidate will:
Reablement Assistant Occupational Therapist supports adults to regain independence and confidence in daily living following illness, injury or a change in circumstances. The role involves assisting with occupational therapy assessments, supporting reablement plans, promoting safe and effective use of equipment and adaptations, and working closely with individuals, carers and partner professionals to help people remain as independent as possible in their own homes.
- Deliver person-centred, strengths-based reablement interventions in home environments. Work towards clear, outcome-focused goals within defined reablement timeframes including functional assessments of mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Contribute to reviews of reablement outcomes (monitoring progress and adjust interventions) to determine ongoing eligibility for care and support
- Support with the completion of Care Act (2014) assessments and support planning for individuals whose needs extend beyond the reablement period
- Support the provision and safe use of minor equipment and adaptations (e.g. grab rails, perching stools) and ensure service users are confident using equipment to maximise independence
- To use judgement, assessment and decision-making skills regarding eligibility for support and services, including the assessment of risk, to identify and allocate appropriate resources to meet customer needs and requirements.
We require the following:
- Experience of working in a health or social care setting with a range of adults with different levels of needs and/or an understanding of how their disability or health needs may impact on their ability to complete daily living tasks.
- Experience of completing assessments and support plans in line with the relevant legislation and internal policies and procedures. Making collaborative use of people’s personal and community resources, to achieve assessed outcomes.
- Experience working in an Occupational Therapy setting – Desirable
