About the Role:

A key client of mine and BIG player in the industry is seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to join their growing team.

This role is focused on driving revenue growth by acquiring new clients and expanding existing business across Air, Road & Sea Freight, and Customs Services. With a strong reputation and experience within Multimodal Logistics, they’re looking for someone who can bring strategic insight, commercial acumen, and a passion for delivering tailored logistics solutions that exceed customer expectations and ideally contacts / clients with them into the business / new role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across air, sea, road freight, and customs services.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with internal operational teams to deliver seamless logistics solutions.
  • Conduct market research to stay ahead of trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
  • Prepare and deliver customised sales presentations and proposals.
  • Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements with clients.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, performance updates, and reports to senior management.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven track record in business development or sales within the freight forwarding/logistics sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of multimodal logistics, with a strong focus on air and sea freight.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship-building ability with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Target-driven with a demonstrable history of achieving and exceeding KPIs.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to work independently and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Leadership: Ready to step in from day one.
  • Communication: Excellent spoken and written English; able to deal confidently with customers and suppliers.
