Supply Desk is working in partnership with a well-regarded independent through school in the Horsham area, who are seeking a knowledgeable and inspiring Business and Economics Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis from September 2026. About the Role
As a Business and Economics Teacher, you will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5. You will be responsible for fostering a strong understanding of business principles and economic theory, while encouraging critical thinking, real-world application, and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Business and Economics lessons aligned with GCSE and A-Level specifications
- Teach across KS4 and KS5, supporting students to achieve excellent academic outcomes
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively
- Create an engaging, inclusive, and academically rigorous classroom environment
- Prepare students for examinations and coursework requirements
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental and whole-school goals
- Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as enterprise activities or academic clubs
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Business and/or Economics at secondary level, including KS5 (desirable)
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for business and economics education
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Ability to inspire and challenge high-achieving students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to high standards and student achievement
- Enthusiasm for working within an independent school environment
Requirements
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Two professional teaching references
- Eligibility to work in the UK
