Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a CDM Coordinator to support the development and continuous improvement of health, safety, environmental and quality management systems in line with the organisation’s established operating framework.
This role is central to promoting a strong safety and compliance culture, ensuring that safe systems of work and robust risk management practices are fully embedded across operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of health and safety compliance across a complex, safety-critical environment.
The position sits within the UK & Ireland Projects team and supports a major government infrastructure programme across a nationwide portfolio of approximately 800 sites. The role contributes directly to the delivery of a safe, reliable and high-quality service, reinforcing a strong reputation for safety-focused facilities support.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), identifying anomalies and ensuring suitability for works
- Issue Authorities to Work and Permits to Work in line with agreed procedures
- Carry out risk assessments and on-site health and safety audits, including contractor spot checks
- Provide practical and proactive HSEQ and CDM advice to operational and project teams
- Coordinate designers and contractors in accordance with CDM Regulations
- Prepare and support Pre-Construction Information (PCI), Pre-Construction Phase Plans (PCC) and the Health & Safety File
- Support the rollout and ongoing compliance of HSEQ and CDM plans across operations
- Use reporting tools to log activity, identify risk trends and drive continuous safety improvements
Person Specification
- Previous experience in a similar CDM, HSEQ or safety role within projects or facilities management (essential)
- IOSH Managing Safely certification (essential)
- CITB CDM qualification
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification
- Strong understanding of HSEQ management systems and CDM Regulations
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
- Proven ability to identify, assess and manage operational risks
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to sites for audits
