About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chemical Analyst/Metallurgical Analyst to join our team supporting the superalloys manufacturing department. This role is critical to ensuring our products and raw materials meet stringent customer requirements and comply with external accreditation standards such as UKAS and NADCAP.

You will operate a range of analytical equipment within our department, working on a shift basis to deliver accurate and timely results that support production and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide variety of samples for multiple analytical techniques
  • Perform chemical and material analysis on super alloys in line with quality and safety procedures
  • Operate and maintain analytical equipment, ensuring calibration prior to use
  • Conduct testing in accordance with relevant procedures and specifications
  • Evaluate results against standards and report any discrepancies
  • Validate and certify test data within company systems
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits
  • Support order entry, administration, and respond to customer queries
  • Deliver results within agreed turnaround times
  • Work safely and contribute to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives
  • Support equipment standardisation and ongoing department improvements
  • Develop skills through training and professional development

About You

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs (including Maths, English, and Science - Grade C/4 or above) would be advantageous
  • A qualification in either Materials, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline (e.g. BTEC, ONC, HNC)
  • OR equivalent industrial experience in a similar environment
  • Strong IT and computer literacy

Experience (Desirable)

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES)
    • X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF)
    • LECO Carbon, Sulphur, Oxygen & Nitrogen analysis
    • Atomic Absorption (residual analysis)
  • Experience working in a UKAS and/or NADCAP accredited environment
  • Exposure to continuous improvement (CI) activities

The role also includes a bonus of up to £6,500 on top of the salary OTE £50,347
