Children's Residential Support Worker / Teaching Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking caring, resilient, and dedicated Children's Residential Support Workers / Teaching Assistants to join our team in Colne. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) within a safe, nurturing residential environment.
These positions are not term-time only, offering the opportunity to work throughout the summer holidays also and all year round. The successful candidate will work closely with young people to support their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, and personal development while making a meaningful difference in their lives.
Duties
- Support children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in a residential care setting.
- Assist with daily routines, personal development, and educational activities.
- Provide emotional support and promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
- Support young people to develop social, communication, and life skills.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
- Assist with behavioural management strategies in line with organisational policies.
- Ensure the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of all young people at all times.
- Participate in shift work, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Shift Pattern
2 days on, 4 days off
(Including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Relevant experience working with children, such as a Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker, or similar role.
- Experience supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work patiently, empathetically, and professionally in challenging situations.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or residential care are beneficial but not essential.
