As a Collections Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting customers who may be experiencing financial difficulties, helping them navigate manageable repayment options while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Location: Finnieston (Hybrid working available following training & probation)
Salary: £26,000
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts, including 1 in 4 weekends (day off in lieu provided)
• 8:00am – 4:00pm (3 weeks)
• 12:00pm – 8:00pm (1 week)
The Role
You’ll be responsible for engaging with customers to understand their circumstances, offering tailored support, and agreeing realistic repayment solutions in line with company processes and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage inbound and outbound customer calls relating to overdue accounts and payment arrangements.
• Handle sensitive customer conversations professionally, respectfully, and with empathy.
• Understand customers’ financial circumstances and conduct income and expenditure assessments to identify suitable repayment options.
• Negotiate and agree realistic, sustainable payment arrangements.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, outcomes, and account activity.
• Work towards individual and team performance targets while ensuring fair customer outcomes.
• Deliver excellent customer service while adhering to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For
• Previous experience within customer service, collections, account management, contact centres, or telephone-based roles.
• Previous collections or financial services experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Excellent communication skills with confidence managing difficult or sensitive conversations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
• High attention to detail and ability to work within established processes.
• A positive, resilient attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
