Commercial Manager

Conrad Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a leading consultancy involved in the delivery of a significant portfolio of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects currently in construction.

We are seeking experienced Commercial Managers to support the successful commercial delivery of these strategically important energy infrastructure projects.

As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day commercial activities across multiple live projects, supporting contract administration, change management, cost control, and contractor engagement throughout the construction phase.

You will work closely with project teams and key stakeholders to ensure effective commercial management and contractual compliance.

• Manage commercial and contractual activities on live construction projects.
• Administer NEC and/or FIDIC contracts.
• Assess and manage compensation events, variations, and change requests.
• Prepare commercial reports and cost forecasts.
• Support contractor management and commercial negotiations.
• Monitor project performance and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders.

• 5–10 years' experience in commercial management, quantity surveying, or contract management roles.
• Experience within energy, renewables, utilities, power, infrastructure, or major construction projects.
• Strong understanding of NEC and/or FIDIC contracts.
• Experience managing change control, claims, compensation events, and commercial reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Background working within a client, consultant, or contractor environment.

• Previous BESS project experience.
• Experience on transmission, renewables, or energy infrastructure schemes.
