A well-established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Practice & Compliance Manager to join their team in London.
The firm operates across multiple practice areas, including immigration, litigation, family, conveyancing, and private client work. This role sits at the centre of operational governance, working closely with directors and senior leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, efficient systems, and consistent service standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day operational management and office procedures
• Ensure internal policies, systems, and workflows are implemented effectively
• Support operational efficiency across departments
• Monitor service delivery, administrative processes, and practice standards
• Assist with business continuity planning and operational improvements
• Maintain internal controls and office systems
• Ensure compliance with SRA and wider regulatory obligations
• Maintain and develop compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures
• Conduct file audits and internal compliance monitoring
• Manage risk processes, complaints handling, and regulatory reporting
• Maintain compliance registers and governance documentation
• Deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives
• Support GDPR, data protection, and confidentiality compliance
• Assist with internal audit processes and reporting to senior leadership
• Conduct file reviews and quality checks across matters
• Identify compliance risks and implement corrective actions
• Improve internal quality assurance systems
• Ensure staff adherence to regulatory and internal requirements
• Support onboarding and induction processes
• Maintain training records, DBS checks, and right-to-work documentation
• Support HR compliance processes and professional standards monitoring
Person Specification
• Experience in legal practice management, compliance, or operations within a law firm
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management
• Knowledge of SRA and legal sector governance requirements
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and strict confidentiality standards
• Experience with legal systems and administration processes
