Credit Controller

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a new Credit Controller to join their finance team based in Sheffield.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to join an established Credit Control team within a global business. Reporting directly to the Credit Control Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting cash collection activities, maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring outstanding debts are managed effectively.

Working closely with colleagues across multiple departments, this position would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and working in a fast-paced environment while developing their credit control and finance experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts and ensure outstanding debts are collected within agreed payment terms.
• Maintain regular communication with customers regarding overdue invoices and account balances.
• Send invoices, statements, proof of delivery documents, and supporting information as required.
• Investigate and resolve customer queries by liaising with relevant internal departments.
• Process credit notes accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with setting up new customer accounts.
• Carry out credit checks on both new and existing customers.
• Support the review of customer credit limits and account risk assessments.
• Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements.
• Provide cover and support for colleagues within the finance team when required.
• Assist with general administrative duties and departmental tasks as needed.
