The EICT Site Engineer, reporting to the EICT Lead, will be a member of the PDE Project Management Team, working collaboratively within the PDE organization, systems, procedures, and methods.

Responsible for ensuring the availability of all electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems for commissioning. Maintains daily contact with the FPSO construction, MC, and commissioning teams.

The EICT Site Engineer is responsible and accountable for providing technical support within the Project towards the EICT discipline. The role ensures that all relevant work, both internal and external, related to these disciplines is executed to meet project requirements.

One of the main activities is to provide engineering support to work relating to construction, MC, and commissioning activities including overhaul, demolition, construction, installation, inspection, and hookup work related to the EICT discipline.

Accountabilities
  • As a member of the EICT Profession, he/she will have responsibility within one or more of the following disciplines (as reflected in the individual accountability plan):

    • Electrical
    • Instrumentation
    • Safety and Automation
    • Process Control
    • Telecommunication and Navigation
    • Metering
  • Responsible for providing technical support within the profession to engineering, construction, MC, and commissioning. This includes being familiar with relevant rules, regulations, and standards applicable for the area of responsibility.

  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in conformance with laws and regulations, contractual requirements, and the Management System Manual. In particular, the health and safety of personnel, natural and working environment, and equipment shall be taken care of.

  • Planning, coordinating, and ensuring execution of an appropriate response to all project E&I issues.

  • Liaise with Construction, MC, commissioning, E&I Superintendent, and Engineering team.

  • Providing E&I solutions, undertaking investigations, and recommending system improvements in conjunction with the engineering department.

  • Ensuring that management is made aware of all potential HS&E issues and business threats as early as practicable.

  • Providing support to the EICT Lead and other elements of the company as requested.

  • Regularly reviewing the performance of third-party contractors.

  • Represent Engineering at the yard and take a lead in resolving any actions, punch items, queries, etc., raised at the yard toward Engineering for the EICT discipline.

  • Ensure all activities comply with governing documentation such as philosophies and specifications.

  • Define, review, participate in, or lead modifications and project work within the area of responsibility.

  • Contribute to knowledge and experience transfer within the company.

  • Actively participate in improving work procedures to optimize processes.

  • Participate in discipline checks on modifications and revisions of drawings and operations manuals.

  • Liaise with Classification and Regulatory bodies as required.

  • Perform any other activities assigned by the EICT Lead.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience within engineering disciplines, including site support experience.
  • Recent experience working on modification projects and/or FPSO redeployment is strongly desired.
  • Experience in a similar role on UK North Sea projects is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills applicable to a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Strong diplomacy and assertiveness.
  • Organized, systematic, and flexible.
  • Fluent English (written and verbal).
