Electrical Fitter - The Role:
- Carry out electrical wiring of control panels and special purpose automated machinery
- Take responsibility for wiring machine elements and electrical cabinets, including rectifications and engineering changes
- Support machine build, assembly and initial setup, including assisting with pneumatic routing and mechanical elements
- Assist in commissioning and development of machinery from power-on through to customer acceptance
- Test and check electrical systems, sensors and machine functions prior to full development
- Maintain accurate build documentation and ensure all work meets internal procedures and electrical standards
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve build and design issues
- Support installation, testing and servicing at customer sites in the UK and occasionally overseas
- Ensure high standards of build quality, cleanliness and presentation throughout the process
Electrical Fitter - The Person:
- Experienced Electrical Fitter with strong background in machinery or automation wiring (ideally 10+ years)
- Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship with relevant electrical qualifications
- Confident in reading and interpreting engineering and electrical drawings
- Solid understanding of electrical principles, safety standards and compliance requirements
- Experience working with special purpose machinery or similar automated systems
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems and their integration within machinery
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and build quality
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible and willing to travel or work off-site at short notice when required
- Professional and presentable when interacting with customers
Located in Leicestershire, this role would be commutable from Hinckley, Loughborough, Leicester and other surrounding areas.
