The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a growing engineering business delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK water sector.
Operating across Southern Water, South East Water and parts of the Thames Water region, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of electrical and MEICA projects from design and procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover.
This position offers the chance to work on a variety of projects involving treatment works, pumping stations, power distribution, control systems and process infrastructure, supporting major AMP8 investment programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the electrical elements of water and wastewater projects.
- Coordinate design, procurement, installation and commissioning activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams.
- Review and approve technical documentation and specifications.
- Support site teams during installation and commissioning phases.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and quality requirements.
Requirements
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience delivering electrical or MEICA projects within the water, utilities, industrial or infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of LV electrical systems, MCCs, control panels, instrumentation and automation.
- Strong understanding of project delivery and engineering processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience working on water or wastewater treatment facilities.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- IOSH, SMSTS or equivalent health and safety qualifications.
