Electrical Project Engineer - Water Infrastructure

The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of water infrastructure projects across the South East of England.
Working across Southern Water, South East Water and parts of the Thames Water region, you will be responsible for managing the electrical aspects of multiple projects, ensuring successful delivery from design through to commissioning.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work on major AMP8 programmes with a strong pipeline of projects already secured.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical project activities from conception through to completion.
- Coordinate design, procurement, installation and commissioning teams.
- Review electrical designs, specifications and technical documentation.
- Support project planning, programme management and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with client standards, health and safety requirements and industry regulations.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
- Support site delivery and commissioning activities when required.
- Monitor project progress, costs and technical performance.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Project Engineer within the water, utilities, infrastructure or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of LV electrical systems, MCCs, control panels, instrumentation and process plant.
- Experience delivering projects within live operational environments.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project priorities.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Previous experience working on Southern Water, South East Water or Thames Water projects.
- Knowledge of MEICA project delivery.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts.
- SMSTS, IOSH or relevant site safety qualifications.
