Employee Relations Adviser

We are working in partnership with a well-established organisation in Lanarkshire to recruit an experienced Employee Relations Adviser to join their HR team.
This is a key role focused on providing expert, pragmatic advice on a wide range of employee relations matters. You will play an important part in supporting managers to handle people issues confidently and consistently, ensuring fair outcomes and alignment with organisational policy and employment legislation.
Working within a supportive HR function, you will take ownership of a varied ER caseload while contributing to a positive employee experience and helping to promote good people management practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a broad range of employee relations casework, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance issues
- Provide clear, practical HR advice and guidance to managers on day-to-day people matters
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures in line with employment law and best practice
- Support managers through investigations, hearings, and case documentation where required
- Identify trends within casework and contribute to improvements in policy and practice
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders to support fair and effective outcomes
- Support wider HR initiatives as required
Essential Criteria
- Full Driving Licence and willingness to travel
- Experience in a generalist HR or ER-focused role with strong exposure to casework
- Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Confident communicator with the ability to advise and influence managers
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and prioritise effectively
- Strong attention to detail and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
