English teacher

English Teacher (SEMH Provision) – Full-Time – Stoke-on-Trent 

We are currently recruiting for a passionate and resilient English Teacher to join a small, specialist provision in the Stoke-on-Trent area . This is a full-time position, ideal for an educator with experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a nurturing, close-knit environment where class sizes are small and relationships are key to student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to students with SEMH needs
• Build strong, supportive relationships to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of individual learning needs
• Contribute to a structured and supportive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with support staff and external professionals

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred but not essential
• Experience working with SEMH students or in alternative provisions
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
• A background or confidence in teaching basic Maths alongside English is highly desirable
• A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners
