Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Langley, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real impact within a school that values creativity, student voice, and high standards of teaching and learning.

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities at KS5 for suitably experienced teachers. You will deliver engaging, well-planned lessons that develop pupils’ reading, writing, and communication skills while inspiring a genuine love of English literature and language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and purposeful classroom environment
  • Plan, assess, and mark in line with school expectations
  • Support pupils’ academic progress, literacy development, and confidence
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive and well-established English department

Who This Role Suits

This role is suitable for experienced teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), or strong unqualified teachers with relevant classroom experience who are confident teaching English at secondary level.

You will be well suited if you:

  • Have recent experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
  • Hold QTS (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Can make English accessible, engaging, and relevant for all learners
  • Are reliable, adaptable, and available for a September start
