About the Role

As a Field Support Electrician - iNOVaTHERM™ Support Group you will provide specialised electrical, technical and operational support for NOV's iNOVaTHERM thermal processing systems at offshore and onshore projects. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the system in accordance with NOV standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory and HSE frameworks.

As a Field Support Electrician, you will work as part of a team on Offshore and Onshore operations providing support for Installations, Thermal Processing, Servicing and Maintenance activities.

Primarily a global Offshore based role which will require you to mobilise to various countries worldwide but with opportunity for additional work at our workshop's when required.

Key Responsibilities

iNOVaTHERM™ Support Group Electrical Duties
  • Carry out installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems associated with iNOVaTHERM equipment.
  • Perform electrical work in hazardous area environments in compliance with CompEx and site-specific regulations.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Install and terminate cables, glands, junction boxes, motors, sensors, heaters, and control panels.
  • Conduct fault finding and repair activities on electrical and control systems.
  • Perform inspection and verification of electrical equipment prior to mobilisation and deployment.
  • Ensure all electrical work is completed in accordance with relevant standards, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Support commissioning and function testing activities during equipment installations.
iNOVaTHERM™ System Operational & Technical Support
  • Provide offshore and onshore technical support for the operation of the iNOVaTHERM™ thermal processing systems, including centrifuges, treatment vessels, controls, and associated auxiliary systems.
  • Monitor system performance, operating parameters, and process data to ensure optimal thermal efficiency and treatment effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot process deviations, equipment malfunctions, and control system alarms specific to the iNOVaTHERM™ equipment.
  • Support installation, commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and steady-state operation of the iNOVaTHERM™ unit.
  • Act as the iNOVaTHERM Support Group's technical representative offshore for iNOVaTHERM™ operations.
  • Interface directly with client operations, maintenance, and HSE personnel to support day-to-day system operation.
  • Coordinate the daily operation of all equipment in line with operational guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment according to service schedules and make repairs as required during operations.
  • Provide on-site guidance during critical operational phases, upset conditions, and non-routine activities.
  • Monitor global iNOVaTHERM operations from the iNOVaTHERM Remote Operating Centre.
  • Execute all work in compliance with NOV HSE policies, Life Saving Rules, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSA), toolbox talks, and hazard identification related to iNOVaTHERM operations.
  • Ensure company HSE procedures are being adhered to.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions when required.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and maintain a safe standard of work.
  • Perform and participate in risk assessments ensuring they are current and up to date.
  • Working to strict environmental guidelines while performing critical testing & analysis.
Safety, Compliance & NOV Standards
  • Execute all work in compliance with NOV HSE policies, Life Saving Rules, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSA), toolbox talks, and hazard identification related to iNOVaTHERM operations.
  • Ensure company HSE procedures are being adhered to.

  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and maintain a safe standard of work.

  • Working to strict environmental guidelines while performing critical testing & analysis.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate daily offshore reports covering system performance, operating conditions, and issues encountered.
  • Document troubleshooting activities, process adjustments, and equipment interventions.
  • Contribute to NOV operating manuals, work instructions, and lessons learned documentation for the iNOVaTHERM™ system.
  • Provide a detailed handover of current operations to assigned relief.
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Transfer
  • Identify opportunities to improve iNOVaTHERM™ system performance, reliability, and operability based on project experience.
  • Provide operational feedback to iNOVaTHERM Support Group and Regional Support teams.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) processes related to system configuration or operating practices.
  • Assist with training and mentoring of regional NOV operators on iNOVaTHERM™ operation.
Qualifications & skills

Essential Qualifications:
  • CompEx Certification (Ex01-Ex04 minimum preferred)
  • Recognised electrical qualification (SVQ/NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent)
  • Experience working with industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical engineering drawings and schematics
  • Offshore experience in oil & gas, industrial, or energy sectors
  • Experience performing electrical installations and fault finding
  • Knowledge of hazardous area equipment and practices
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and procedures Experience in offshore and international travel.
  • Computer literacy (good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of HMI / PLC Controlled Systems would be advantageous (desirable).
  • Good Health and Safety knowledge.
  • Good English skills, both verbal and written.
  • Offshore certification (BOSIET/FOET, MIST, Medical)
  • Experience with thermal processing or industrial heating systems
  • PLC and instrumentation experience
  • Familiarity with generators, distribution systems, and control panels
  • Mechanical aptitude and process operations experience
  • Proven experience working with Mechanical and/or Hydraulic Equipment or Machinery.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Offshore certification (BOSIET/FOET, MIST, Medical)
  • Experience with thermal processing or industrial heating systems
  • PLC and instrumentation experience
  • Familiarity with generators, distribution systems, and control panels
  • Mechanical aptitude and process operations experience
  • Proven experience working with Mechanical and/or Hydraulic Equipment or Machinery.
