Fire Door Carpenter

Please note the work will cover Essex for x3 days and then will be required to work away in Birmingham on Thursday night for last 2 days of work(accomodation provided, plus fuel expense and overnight allowance.) You must have a blue CSCS card and NVQ Level 2 in carpentry to be considered for this work.

A leader in the provision of fire protection services and works within is looking for an experienced fire door carpenter to join their team. You will be working on care home premises, carrying out fire door remedial works. The works are located on one site and all materials provided. First 3 days in Essex then last 2 in Birmingham. Will require working away one night on Thursday. 

The successful candidate will have:

• At least two year’s experience working with fire doors
• A strong background in carpentry and joinery
• Excellent technical knowledge of fire door compliance
• NVQ or equivalent in carpentry
• Experience installing fire doors and frames
• Experience upgrading and remediating existing doors and frames
• Experience working on social housing FRA contracts
• Own van/transport 

Roles and responsibilities

• Carrying out remedial works to new and existing fire doors
• Complete works in line with the manufacture’s specification
• Document works on a step-by-step basis, ensuring evidence is taken accurately
• Problem solving and being able to overcome unforeseen issues with the work
• Liaise with customers and members of the general public

• Fire door remedial works on a large residential premises (no social housing)
• Self-employed work for around 3 months / till end of summer.
• £220.00 per day based on 8 hrs worked
