The Role

The successful Fitter will play a key role in the assembly and preparation of a range of distribution and power transformers, ensuring every product meets exceptional quality standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and parts lists
  • Assembling components and subassemblies with precision
  • Maintaining high workmanship standards and supporting OTIF delivery
  • Completing all relevant works order documentation
  • Reporting issues, shortages, or equipment breakdowns promptly
  • Using a range of workshop machinery and hand tools
  • Carrying out quality inspections on colleagues’ work where required

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Hands-on experience in a mechanical or electrical engineering environment
  • The ability to read and interpret mechanical and schematic drawings
  • A mechanical or electrical qualification (apprenticeship desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Experience in a continuous improvement environment (advantageous)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
