Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Foundation Tutor at Entry Level 1 to join our Berkshire College of Agriculture team starting in August 2026 on a permanent, full-time basis.

Foundation Tutor (Entry Level 1)

This role offers a permanent full-time academic contract working 37 hours per week and pays on the Academic Pay Scale (T1 £31,633 – T11 £45,341).

The position of Foundation Tutor (Entry Level 1) at Berkshire College of Agriculture entails delivering high-quality teaching and assessment, aimed at providing an excellent educational and training experience, while also promoting active student learning. To be successful, applicants must have recent teaching experience at the Foundation or Entry level, specifically demonstrating success with SEND learners who have complex or severe needs. This includes experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC/ASD); Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) including using Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC), Makaton, or PECS; cognitive conditions including PMLD, SLD, and MLD; social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH); and physical, sensory, or complex medical conditions such as Epilepsy.

Key responsibilities for the Foundation Tutor (Entry Level 1) include the effective delivery of teaching programs, regular assessments of student progress, and the preparation of comprehensive progress reports. The tutor must maintain accurate and timely student records, including attendance and examination results, and uphold student morale and discipline in collaboration with College Management. Additionally, the tutor will keep abreast of developments in the curriculum and syllabus that are relevant to their teaching areas.

This role involves working collaboratively within the team to devise, review, and enhance teaching and learning strategies. The tutor is also expected to support and organize extracurricular activities that are vital for students' career and personal development and contribute to outreach and liaison work within the community and external organizations. Essential duties include participating in the college’s appraisal and performance management processes, staying updated through professional development activities, establishing industry links, and attending relevant college events such as parents' evenings. The tutor will also be responsible for developing or enhancing existing courses and may undertake course coordination responsibilities as needed.

To qualify, candidates must possess a relevant degree or Level 3 vocational qualification in the subject area, Level 2 qualifications (GCSE A-C or equivalent) in English and Maths, and an endorsed Level 5 teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards one; Assessor and Verifier awards are desirable but not essential.
