General Manager - Nursing Home

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £80,000 per annum
Summary Responsibilities
- CQC Registered Manager responsibility for the holistic care of residents and overall management of the nursing home
- Drive continuous service improvement to enhance resident experience and satisfaction
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of current and future sector standards and regulatory changes, planning proactively for care and staffing developments
- Full accountability for care home finances and occupancy levels to meet agreed performance targets
- Overall responsibility for compliance, safeguarding, complaint management, CQC reporting, incident reporting, health and safety and investigations
- Provide strong leadership and people development, setting long‑term vision and strategic direction for the service
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to policy development and lead meetings and service‑wide projects

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified and NMC Registered Nurse (Adult - Level 1)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent), completed or working towards
- Minimum of 4 years' relevant management experience
- Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, Essential Standards, infection control, medication management, GDPR, NMC standards and the Mental Capacity Act
- Proven people‑management experience
- Experience managing budgets and achieving financial targets
- Experience working with older people in a supervisory or management capacity
- In‑depth understanding of dementia care
- Knowledge of manual handling, food hygiene, health and safety, safeguarding and DoLS
- Confident IT skills
Desirable
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Experience delivering or overseeing clinical supervision
