General Operative

To support the efficient operation of a heavy engineering production environment by carrying out a range of manual, mechanical, and process tasks. The role involves working safely, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to team productivity. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and equipment in line with training and safety procedures
• Assist in the manufacturing, assembly, or processing of heavy engineering components
• Handle materials, parts, and products safely and efficiently
• Perform basic quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
• Follow work instructions, production schedules, and supervisor guidance
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment (housekeeping)
• Report faults, defects, or safety concerns promptly
• Support continuous improvement initiatives where required
• Work collaboratively with team members across all shifts

Health & Safety

• Adhere strictly to all health and safety policies and procedures
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Participate in training and safety briefings
• Ensure safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment

Working Hours

This role operates on a 3-shift rotation:

• Morning Shift: 06:00 – 14:00
• Afternoon Shift: 14:00 – 22:00
• Night Shift: 22:00 – 06:00

Shift pattern: 6 days on, 2 days off (rotating)
