FläktGroup Ireland is seeking a dedicated Global Pharma CAD Engineer to join our team, ensuring the continuous and reliable operation of critical HVAC and cooling systems for our global pharmaceutical clients.

Purpose of the Position

A precise mechanical CAD professional to provide drawing support during the sales process and to bridge the gap between engineering design and physical production

Main Responsibilities

  • 2D General Arrangement (GA) Drawing Creation: Producing detailed GA drawings that clearly define all critical system interfaces, including:
    • Coil pipe connections (supply, return, drain).
    • Duct connection points and sizes.
    • Routing for electrical instrumentation cabling.
    • Other necessary interface details for installation and commissioning.
  • 3D Model Modification (STEP Files): Proficiently modifying existing 3D models (typically STEP files) of our AHU and associated components, which may involve:
    • Adjusting component sizes (e.g., reducing or increasing damper dimensions).
    • Integrating external components into the design (e.g., adding a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) enclosure outside the AHU).
  • Layouts / Schematics: Preparing layout or schematic drawings, when necessary, e.g. Warehouse Ducted systems, PIDs or AFIDs in collaboration with the engineering and design teams.
  • Workshop Collaboration: Collaborating closely with the factory to verify and check components and designs in real-time. Visiting the workshop to confirm the exact shape, fit, and appearance of physical components as needed may be required.
  • Documentation: Ensuring all drawings and models are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with engineering and manufacturing standards. Ensuring all title block information is accurate. Ensuring the output is presentable in the client’s format as necessary for submittal.
  • Revisions: Reviewing and understanding comments/inputs and updating all associated drawings/documents accordingly.

Basic Requirements of the Position

Education/Knowledge/Certification:

  • Must-Have: Professional Qualification and expert knowledge of CAD software capable of both 2D drawing and 3D modelling/modification (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).
  • Nice-to-Have: A formal education in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field is highly valued, particularly for candidates who can demonstrate a quick learning aptitude for new technical subjects like AHU principles.

Experience:

  • Must-Have: 3 to 5+ years of demonstrable work experience in Mechanical CAD (Computer-Aided Design).
  • Nice-to-Have: Any prior experience or knowledge of HVAC systems, especially Air Handling Units (AHU), would be an excellent asset.

Skills:

  • Must-Have: Ability to communicate and discuss technical matters effectively in English (engineering level).
  • Nice-to-Have: Additional Languages, Advanced engineering design skills

Competences:

  • A precise, focused, and meticulous character is essential. Thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail is paramount.

 Working Conditions

  • Occasional travel required
